As our operations shift towards greener paths, so are our community engagement plans. As part of our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment and increase the efficiency of our communication with our local community, we look forward to transitioning to new digital formats.

Community Advisory Panel Annual Neighborhood Meeting

Parkland Burnaby Refinery will be hosting the CAP Annual Neighborhood Meeting via Zoom on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. 


Air Permit Extension Application

Parkland Refining (B.C.) Ltd. (Parkland) currently operates under air discharge permit GVA-0117 issued by Metro Vancouver. The current permit is valid until January 31st, 2021. We have applied to Metro Vancouver to extend the permit by 18 months until July 31, 2022.


Fire Safety Tree Removals: October 2020 Update

Parkland has summarized and reviewed community input regarding the sightline mitigation replanting plan at N. Carleton Ave and Yale St., and will begin planting in October 2020. 


BC Environmental Assessment Office Project Notification

On June 29, 2020 Parkland submitted a Project Notification with the BC Provincial Environmental Assessment Office (EAO). During the public comment period, several questions and concerns were raised. 


Fire Safety Tree Removals: September 2020 Update

Parkland is seeking community input regarding a proposed sightline replanting plan at N. Carleton Ave and Yale St, Burnaby to provide a visual buffer and to improve sound dampening.

Fire Safety Tree Removals: April 2020 Update

As part of our commitment to safety, Burnaby Refinery completed selective tree removals within its storage tank areas in late 2019. While this necessary work was part of Parkland’s proactive efforts to address new industry safety regulations, we did not follow our own standards for proactive communication and notification with our neighbours in advance of work beginning, and for this we sincerely apologize.
